Summary

Brie finds herself caught between two princes and two destinies while the future of the fae realm hangs in the balance。

After Abriella's sister was sold to the fae, she thought life couldn't get any worse。 But when she suddenly finds herself caught in a web of lies of her own making - loving two princes and trusting neither - things are not quite as clear as she once thought。

As civil war wages in the Court of Darkness, Brie finds herself unable to choose a side。 How can she know where she stands when she doesn't even know herself anymore? In this darkly romantic thrill ride, the more Faerie is torn apart from the inside, the clearer it becomes that prophecies don't lie and Brie has a role to play in the fate of this magical realm - whether she likes it or not。

I liked this book better than the first one。 I thought the plot was better and less predictable, the characters were more interesting, and there were more interesting details in the worldbuilding as well。 The book picks up where the first book left off, if I remember correctly。 Bri has become Fae as a result of the potion of life Sebastian gave her after bonding with her and is fleeing the castle, using her new powers to aid her。 She works on controlling her powers and shielding her mind from th I liked this book better than the first one。 I thought the plot was better and less predictable, the characters were more interesting, and there were more interesting details in the worldbuilding as well。 The book picks up where the first book left off, if I remember correctly。 Bri has become Fae as a result of the potion of life Sebastian gave her after bonding with her and is fleeing the castle, using her new powers to aid her。 She works on controlling her powers and shielding her mind from the bond with Sebastian。 She discovers that they need to reunite the courts or the courts will die, and that brings her back together with Finn。 Several good spicy moments in this one, and like I said before, I liked this sequel better than the first one。Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC! 。。。more

I was so excited to have been grated an advanced copy of this book。 Thank you NetGalley and Clarion Books! The following are my honest opinions of the book。I find it interesting that the synopsis for the book paints this as more of a love triangle than it really is, because Brie pretty much has her mind made up。 This was actually a pleasant discovery seeing as there was enough of the triangle in the first book。 Finn is as delicious as in the first book。We meet some new characters - Misha is prob I was so excited to have been grated an advanced copy of this book。 Thank you NetGalley and Clarion Books! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I definitely would。 Seriously, I couldn't love these characters more (even the unlovable ones。。。you know who you are!)。 I couldn't put this book down。。。not to to eat or to work (don't tell my boss) or even to give my poor old eyes a rest。 I went directly from the first book into this one and, oh my gosh, it was everything I'd hoped for。 The adventure, the emotions, the world-building were all on point。 And, of course, the characters continued to burrow If I could give this book more than 5 stars I definitely would。 Seriously, I couldn't love these characters more (even the unlovable ones。。。you know who you are!)。 I couldn't put this book down。。。not to to eat or to work (don't tell my boss) or even to give my poor old eyes a rest。 I went directly from the first book into this one and, oh my gosh, it was everything I'd hoped for。 The adventure, the emotions, the world-building were all on point。 And, of course, the characters continued to burrow themselves into my heart。The decisions that Brie faces in this part of the story are life-altering and she does it with such class, such care for others, that it's quite obvious that anyone would be lucky to have a friend like her or even just have her in their corner when the going gets tough。 She goes through so much self-discovery and becomes even stronger than she could ever imagine being。 I loved the character growth in this book and the fact that each one had many obstacles they needed to face together and on their own。 I won't tell you which prince wins the girl because that's cheating。。。but I will say that Finn still made me sigh throughout this entire story and I will continue to be #TeamFinnForever! As I said earlier, I couldn't love this book (or this series) more。 But I do have one beef with the author and that's simply。。。why a duology?!?! That's not nearly enough。 I need more of these characters。 I need more Finn。 I need more time in the Fae realm and in the underworld。 I need more Finn (wait, did I say that already?)。 I need。。。。well, I need more!! I've read These Hollow Vows last year (my very first fae book), and was agreeably surprised, so I was excited to read the sequel this year。I enjoyed it a lot, much like the first book。 The author manages to pull me into the story and make me care for the characters, even if I found Abriella sometimes annoying with her pity parties。 Sebastian got on my nerves most of the times but ultimately I made my peace with him and I'm satisfied with how it ends for him。I enjoyed seeing all the other charact I've read These Hollow Vows last year (my very first fae book), and was agreeably surprised, so I was excited to read the sequel this year。I enjoyed it a lot, much like the first book。 The author manages to pull me into the story and make me care for the characters, even if I found Abriella sometimes annoying with her pity parties。 Sebastian got on my nerves most of the times but ultimately I made my peace with him and I'm satisfied with how it ends for him。I enjoyed seeing all the other characters again, especially Finn, and I loved Misha! I wished we would have learned more about Misha and the Wild Faes, maybe in another book? I liked how Abriella discovers her magic, her powers, her purpose and somehow herself through the book。 The book is well written, even if the beginning was a bit too slow-paced for my liking。 I'm glad the story tied up all the loose ends and has a satisfying ending。 I definitely recommend this duology if you enjoy fae stories or if you have never read any before and want to start somewhere。Thank you to the publisher who provided me with an e-copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for a review! This was easily my best read of the year! Brie’s growth in this books is truly the star。 There are new characters that I loved and hope we will see more of?? The ending was so satisfying and I couldn’t think of a better way to end Brie’s story。 It was fast-paced but at the same time, we really see the characters grow。 I can’t wait for everyone to read this!

She was a solid character to begin with but watching her grieve, become angry, become bitter, deal with being a victim, cope with the paralyzing loneliness, and reconcile her past with her future and her goodness with her demons is absolute perfection。 I love her, I loved her journey, and I loved seeing such a strong character use such painful sacrifice to make herself unstoppable, and use the weaknesses and darkness within to make herself stronger。The love triangle continues in this book with ALL of the strings attached but it honestly functions more as an integral part of the story and Brie’s journey as a whole than it does a romantic device。 We gain so much more depth to Finn in this book and watch Sebastian grapple with the consequences of his actions and what comes next。 Brie does NOT let EITHER of them off the hook though and the emotions that are pulled out of all 3 characters independently and together as they try to navigate this complicated dynamic is breathtaking。 The spice stays fade to black but somehow gets even hotter in this book and, in my opinion, tips slightly more toward New Adult than it does YA。 So absolutely no complaints here!!True to the first book, this book will also keep you on your toes and guessing right up to the very end。 There were some aspects that were super obvious and plain as day where the story was heading, but again don’t get comfortable thinking you know anything about the story。 Things that seem obvious quickly become complicated, things that seem anticlimactic quickly become explosive, and my GOSH if the last 30% of this book didn’t rip my dang heart out of my chest…All in all I’m not going to be able to stop thinking about this book。 This was a perfect and beautiful conclusion to a fantastic duology and if I say it left me wanting more it’s only because I adore and miss this world so much already。 I can’t pick one star in the sky…it deserves them all!!Thank you SO much to Netgalley, Clarion Books, and the author for sending me a copy of this amazing book in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

I loved These Hollow Vows and was desperate to learn how Brie’s story would end。 One thing I really loved about this story and Brie’s character development was that she held Sebastian accountable for the shit he pulled at the end of book one。 She does the same with Finn, although I think that his behaviour was less terrible than scaring her into a bond and not telling her she would die and come back as a fae。I loved the side characters, especially Misha。 Super flirty, powerful and has that awesome mind-reading power。 I think Brie really came into her own in this book and I love how she really fought for what she wanted, especially in the second half。 The ending itself was satisfying。 It ended the way I wanted it to, although I was shocked by Sebastian’s actions at the end! Also, while I love who she chose, I don’t know if I completely bought their love story。 Something I’m still processing, I guess。Overall, a really entertaining read and a great way to end a fantastic series!Thank you to #netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to leave an honest review。 。。。more

And not just about boys – Abriella spend most of this book just figuring out what she was supposed to do and how to deal with everything, but not in an interesting way。 Just whining and waiting for other people to tell her what to do, basically, and then whining about not liking being told what to do。I didn’t like Sebastian at all in this one。 He was so dishonest in These Hollow Vows that I simply couldn’t trust him and he was so whiny all the time because Abriella didn’t love him。 He was also pretty selfish。 And Finn wasn’t that much better, tbh。 A very whiny book。I was also a bit confused about the role Misha played。 He was an interesting character, but I felt like he didn’t actually do anything。 He could’ve easily been left out of this book。 Many people and scenes could’ve been cut out, in fact。 There just wasn’t much action。 A lot of talking, a lot of trying to figure out what was going on。 It was a bit boring。 Didn’t help that I didn’t exactly care about the characters。 So yeah, I didn’t really care for this book。 I’m sure there are many people who will absolutely love it, but that’s not going to be me。Thank you NetGalley and Hodder&Stoughton for offering me a review copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I was pleased with how it was resolved, but also could feel the heartache throughout before it was。 The plot was constant, but I’m not sure it was high-stakes。 There was always a sense of urgency and I always wanted to keep reading, but I think it was only at the end that I got particularly stressed - I didn’t expect to still be fretting about the book so close to the end。 There were a lot of driving events and a lot of travelling to resolve problems, and there was an overall issue that needed to be resolved。 This was a great conclusion to the series and I’m sad that it’s now finished。 。。。more

These Twisted Bonds | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️。5‼️NO SPOILERS‼️I had the opportunity to receive an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) for the first time, and I was super excited that it was for These Twisted Bonds by Lexi Ryan, the 2nd and last book of These Hollow Vows duology。I loved the first book, and this book takes off right where we left in the first book。I enjoyed Sebastian’s and Brie’s character development in this second book ( I would have liked for Finn to have the same opportunity), and I wish that the pl These Twisted Bonds | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️。5‼️NO SPOILERS‼️I had the opportunity to receive an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) for the first time, and I was super excited that it was for These Twisted Bonds by Lexi Ryan, the 2nd and last book of These Hollow Vows duology。I loved the first book, and this book takes off right where we left in the first book。I enjoyed Sebastian’s and Brie’s character development in this second book ( I would have liked for Finn to have the same opportunity), and I wish that the plot’s conclusion was a little more detailed (it felt a bit rushed for me)。Overall this YA series is a well-written easy read, with a well-built but easily immersive world, and by making it a duology the author has delivered two really good and cohesive books。If you enjoyed ACOTAR you should give this series a try! 。。。more

Three cheers to Lexi Ryan for writing a love triangle I enjoyed。 This was a fantastic conclusion to These Hollow Vows。 We really get all the tropes in this duology。 The character development was what really blew me away。 If you can make me hate, then love someone, you're getting five stars。 This has all the classic fairy tale vibes with romance, pining, and a satisfying ending。 Three cheers to Lexi Ryan for writing a love triangle I enjoyed。 This was a fantastic conclusion to These Hollow Vows。 We really get all the tropes in this duology。 The character development was what really blew me away。 If you can make me hate, then love someone, you're getting five stars。 This has all the classic fairy tale vibes with romance, pining, and a satisfying ending。 。。。more

I was debating whether to DNF this book a couple of times, however there were then some points where I was excited to read more as it seems as though the story was picking up, however it then fell flat and it seemed as though the author wasn’t even sure where to go with the story。 For example: * Finn being ‘ tethered’ to Brie felt very random (it did kind of make sense as to why they were so close etc but…just meh) * having Brie ‘kidnapped yet again’ but the queens guards (this happened like 3 times) * Brie having this ‘dark side’ to her which helped her and Bash escape (but this was only mentioned twice before)* the ending > this necklace which was on Brie the whole time because she couldn’t bring ‘herself to get rid of it’ at the beginning of the book, and then was only mentioned one or two more times throughout the book, being one of these ‘magical stones’ that (you guessed it) could turn fae into humans, something that Brie had wanted all along Also all those people wanting more spicey scenes are all going to be disappointed, because this also fell flat for me (I’m not however sure if this book is marketed as YA or NA, but I’d have to guess at YA)Overall, 3。5 stars, probably more 3 stars。I know a lot of people really liked the first one (and I’ve even seen some people who have really enjoyed the second), but just my opinion I would not recommend and I’m disappointed 🙃 。。。more

3。5If you are looking for a book/series to read after an ACOTAR hangover, this duology is it! Very similar but also does it's own thing。 After reading These Hollow Vows I had to read These Twisted Bonds asap。 It starts where it left off in These Hollow Vows with Brie's anger。 We follow her, Finn and Sebastion as they figure out what to do about the bonds, children and the courts。There were plenty of jaw dropping and eyerolling moments。 Most eye rolls were towards Bash。 Finn was swoonworthy。There 3。5If you are looking for a book/series to read after an ACOTAR hangover, this duology is it! I would love to have a book dedicated to him。I did enjoy this book more than the first and I'm sad to see things story come to an end。 I had a lot of fun reading it。read an arc through edelweiss <3 。。。more

*4。5 ENDGAME STARS*Oh boy, I loved almost everything about this! This picked up right where book one ended, and thanks to this ARC I got to read both books back-to-back without needing to wait for months for the sequel。These Twisted Bonds had way darker vibes than the first one, but I didn't mind that one bit! I'm not ready to say goodbye to this world and these characters, and I'm quite sad this is just a duology because I wouldn't mind an extra book (or two) to be honest!I'm glad we got to kno *4。5 ENDGAME STARS*Oh boy, I loved almost everything about this! The one complaint that I had was that I think the pacing was a little off sometimes。 The first 75% of the book were quite slow (and focused more on the romance) compared to the last quarter, where so many things were happening in quick succession that it actually left me reeling sometimes。 I could've done with a longer epilogue and some extra chapters to see the endgame couple and their happily-ever-after。 Oh well, not complaining because at least my favorite got the girl in the end! 。。。more

Absolutely perfect sequel to These Hollow Vows。 Brie is a fierce female who fights for the rights of all the less fortunate。 She deserves nothing more than to be queen, but the unexpected always seems to happen in the magical realm of the Seelie and Unseelie。 Betrayal, love, and hope intertwine in this excellent sequel。

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this novel。 4/5 stars。 This is a sequel to These Hollow Vows。 Did I immediately binge read this after rereading These Hollow Vows? Yes。 To echo some of my comments from my review of THV, I felt like this was written for readers of the Cruel Prince/ACOTAR/etc。, because Brie embodies many of the same qualities as the MCs in those novels; however, the world is still unique enough to where it doesn't feel like an exact copy of the YA fantast novels Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this novel。 4/5 stars。 This is a sequel to These Hollow Vows。 Did I immediately binge read this after rereading These Hollow Vows? t took me a good 25% of this book to get back into it again。 THV was a 5 star for me, this is about a 4。5/4。75 and that’s purely for the beginning。 This does feel a little like ACOTAR lite。 There are a lot of comparisons and similarities but I really enjoyed it and got swept up in it。
